Rich Chvala is Senior Vice President of CSG and leads the management consultant and corporate investment sectors. He brings a wealth of business knowledge and through his former position, a strong balance as a consultant in marketing, strategy and leadership - executive coaching practices. Rich’s activities include long-term engagements with clients such as: AMD, Allergan, American Water, Becton Dickinson, CIBA, Ingersoll-Rand, Motorola, Panasonic, Verizon and Veritas. Rich demonstrates measurable success in enabling firms to position ventures to align with their strategic focus. Rich works with clients directly and through consultant firms such as the Philadelphia based Strategic Management Group and through university executive education programs.

Prior to moving full-time with his family’s firm at CSG, Rich was a co-founder and chief marketing officer of Envera, the chemical industry eBusiness marketplace and supply chain system which has evolved into ChemConnect, recognized by Fortune magazine as one of the leading supply chain eBusiness offerings today.

At Envera, Rich led the venture capital development, raising over $40 million in corporate investments into Envera in less than 4 months, remaining a record within the chemical sector for value proposition representation with 12 chemical firms.

Prior to Envera, Mr. Chvala was the worldwide business manager for Ethyl Corporation and was recognized for achieving highest ROI across all business units. During his tenure at Ethyl Corporation, Rich facilitated the Marketing Forum and led an organizational development project to develop executive leadership teams for the four FORTUNE 1000 company’s “spun-off” from Ethyl: Tredegar Industries, Whitby Pharmaceuticals, Albemarle Corporation and First Colony – now Genworth.


Mr. Chvala’s career path included leadership roles at Container Technology Corporation, Swan Industries and began as a high school teacher and principal. Co-author of two marketing strategy books, “Total Quality in Marketing” and “The Marketing Encyclopedia 2000”, Rich has been featured on CNBC’s “Technology Today” and served as chairperson of the American Marketing Association. A graduate of Michigan Technological University, Rich also earned his master’s in administration from Central Michigan University.
