Retirement Planning

As with commercial funding, we feel we are unique in our approach to providing companies better solutions for their retirement plans. Just as with commercial funding, we take a consultative approach. Most companies feel they want a conventional 401(k) Plan when they first contact us, with or without a match. Most providers would sell them what they ask for and feel they have done a good job but not us.

At Capital Sources Group, we examine the merits of both Defined Benefit Plan approaches, as well as Defined Contribution Plans. We insist on an "employee census", to enable us to provide detailed illustrations using traditional profit sharing, (everyone receives the same percentage of pay), integrated, (those earning more than the social security maximum wage are entitled to a higher percentage to make up for the shortfall from Social Security), age weighted, and New Comparability or Cross-Tested Profit Sharing, (where employees can be divided into two or more tiers, based on levels of management, years of service, etc. Top tier members can receive up to 100% of pay up to $41,000 for 2004, while the bottom tier can be restricted to five percent, (in some cases as little as three percent) of pay. Plans can be customized to virtually design a "Bonus Plan" within the 401(k) Plan to motivate key middle management personnel that drive profitability while "handcuffing" them through selection of a vesting schedule with minimal costs to cover "rank and file".
